Key West's 10-day costume party starts today — and the theme is basically a Broadway fever dream
Fantasy Fest 2026 runs Oct 16–25, and this year's theme is "Musical Icons and Iconic Musicals." Translation: Duval Street is about to be wall-to-wall Elphabas, Freddie Mercurys and at least one very committed Cher (if you know, you know).
It opens tonight with the Royal Coronation at the Coffee Butler Amphitheater. Midweek is where it gets good: Tutu Tuesday (Oct 20, tutus required — no exceptions, no excuses), the 42nd annual Headdress Ball (Oct 22), the locals' Masquerade March (Oct 23), and the big parade on Saturday, Oct 24. It all wraps Sunday the 25th with "The Fat Lady Sings" Tea Dance at La Te Da.
👉 Our tip: if you can only do a few days, skip the parade-weekend crush and go midweek for Tutu Tuesday and the Headdress Ball. And pack a waterproof setting spray. Key West humidity does not care about your contour.
